200MP Telephoto Camera, Leica Partnership & 6,000mAh Battery
Ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Xiaomi has unveiled an impressive lineup of new gadgets, headlined by its powerful new flagship smartphone — the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Alongside the phone, the company introduced an AirTag-style tracker, the Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch, and an ultra-slim power bank. But it’s the camera-focused 17 Ultra that is stealing the spotlight.
Leica-Powered Camera Innovation Takes Center Stage
Xiaomi and the renowned German camera manufacturer Leica have strengthened their collaboration, and the 17 Ultra now boasts high-end photography functions. The smartphone has proprietary Leica-style filters and co-branded lenses that mimic the appearance and feel of vintage cameras.
Its innovative 200MP telephoto camera with a changeable focal length of 75mm to 100mm equivalent is the standout feature. This enables genuine optical zoom between 3.2x and 4.3x, providing outstanding detail for long-range and portrait photographs. In addition, the device has a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP primary sensor with a huge 1-inch sensor and f/1.67 aperture for excellent low-light performance.
To celebrate 100 years of Leica, Xiaomi is releasing a special edition model featuring a durable aluminum-alloy body with a premium nickel-anodized finish. It includes a rotating zoom ring inspired by traditional cameras and a dedicated “Leica Essential Mode,” recreating the iconic look of Leica M9 and Leica M3 photography.
Flagship Performance and Fast Charging Power
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor — the same chipset powering the latest Galaxy S26 series. It sports a large 6.9-inch HyperRGB OLED display protected by Shield Glass 3.0.
The global model packs a massive 6,000mAh battery (6,800mAh in China) with 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless Hypercharge support, making it one of the fastest-charging flagship smartphones of 2026.
With premium camera technology, powerful hardware, and stylish design, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Android flagships of the year.
